We recently purchased a property and went with Setfords. We were very lucky to be allocated Emma Smith as our solicitor. We can not sing Emma’s praises high enough.Emma was extremely professional and hard working. Emma was outstanding; she went over and above, provided all of the relevant information in a way that was clear and easy to understand (especially as this was all new). Emma always kept us informed and got back to us very quickly. She guided us every step of the way, and made sure we understood everything to make the right choices - took the time to explain things to us and our family. Emma worked extremely hard to ensure we completed prior to our offer expiring. Emma really made our first home purchase feel a lot less stressful, and managed any anxieties we raised. I highly recommend Emma Smith (and would even advise requesting her) for your home purchase. We would recommend Emma to friend and family - and will definitely be going back should we purchase again.

Needed a Solicitor for conveyance. Excellent service at a reasonable cost. If Ryan wasn’t able to take my call would always return to me quickly and kept me updated with the process. Very approachable

I am not sure Setfords is aware what a gem Kathryn Forbes-Taylor is. If there was a title she would deserve would be the goddess solicitor, and that would probably don't do her enough justice as to how professional and efficient she is. I completed within 71 days and with Christmas in the middle! It would have been 60 if only the silly estate agent didn't question whether I could afford it.I loved how she didn't delegate, it was always her I was dealing with, and she always replied promptly, unlike my vendor's solicitor who had several people and apparently not talking to each other.I affectionately call her Ms Foot on Pedal, as she said "I'll try to exchange this morning", I didn't make it to the corner of the bank and she already did it!In the past, I made the first time buyer mistake of going for the bank's recommendation, an affordable 'no move no fee', that ended up in 8 months of going nowhere. I lost a lot money in storage, rent, mortgage broker, valuation fee, homebuyer's report..therapy! And I had to give up all my belongings. I realised those type of solicitors might not be as motivated to push things forward. False economy.Kathryn was highly recommended to me, and I decided to purchase a home buyer's insurance, in case things went wrong whilst home buying, as I was on a tight deadline to move out.I was worried that with Christmas in the middle, paperwork might have been stagnant, but nothing further from the true. She spotted 3 documents missing, even though the other flats in the building sold with potential insurance claims being made against them. It just shows how many unreliable unaware solicitors are out there, and how eagle eyed and experienced Kathryn really is.Probably her kickboxing skills kicked in when the vendor was dragging his feet with the paperwork hoping I might cough up the money he was meant to pay, and he had no choice but to sort it out, as she wouldn't take any of the comments they made, assertiveness 100%For context, I rarely do 70 miles an hour, and when I do, I think I am going fast. I made a joke the other day when hitting 70 "Who am I, who am I??? I am Kathryn Forbes-Taylor Ms Foot on Pedal!"I hope she doesn't get bullied for eternity with this silly nickname, she needs to be paid the highest wages possible in Setfords. I am very glad I paid the extra money to have a senior solicitor "You get what you pay for"!Thank you ever so much for your incredible help Kathy, I can't thank you enough.I have already recommended her and I will recommend her alwaysWith very best wishesYours sincerelySandra N

I was invited to complete a form detailing an employment claim, which I did and was promised a call to discuss my claim on a no win no fee basis. I chased several times and provided additional information. No reply to emails and no call received.Suggest avoid this practice

I've always been extremely happy with the excellent level of service and quality provided by Jolita and Tracey. I always recommend Jolita to friends and family.Jolita's attention to detail, commitment to estimated timelines, great professionalism, and just getting things done to a high level of quality is what I like most about working with her.Together with the great efficiency and support provided by Tracey, they both make an excellent team and are a real credit to Setfords.

Carlota is Superhuman! We recently purchased a property and used Carlota Payne as our conveyancer. We found her incredibly efficient (often replied in a matter of minutes) and got us to exchange in just over a month. We have already recommended Carlota to two of our friends, who have had equally as good experiences!

Setfords Solicitors well and truly tried to pull the wool over our eyes after trying to lease a commercial property from their client Perry Holt. They were extremely unprofessional and very pushy and tried to complete quickly without the proper due diligence being done. They were unwilling to provide necessary documents needed to complete the lease eg. Fire risk assessment certificate, electrical inspection certificate etc. If it wasn’t for our rigorous solicitor who could see right through them we could have been liable for a number of costly matters once completing with them.Avoid at all costs.

Would love to say that it depends who you get at Setfords, but every individual we had the pleasure to deal with exhibited complete disregard of common sense or any glimpse of motivation towards their job. Every touchpoint you are shown how little thought and effort goes into their work. Still amazed at how low customer service can go...

Highly recommend Divya Patel at Setfords. Excellent communication, got back to me very quickly with any questions I had. Very helpful and friendly lady. Would definitely use her again in the future.

Atrocious service, I have paid money on account to Setfords for Wills mid January. Two months have now passed and no draft Wills received, I have called and complained, emailed and complained, left voicemails, spoke to the receptionist numerous times, requested my money back and to date not received anything from them. Tomorrow I will speak to The Law Society - avoid this company if at all possible
